July 2015 Athlete of the Month – Brad Sentes

B-Rad

Happy Saskatchewan Day (if that’e even a thing to say). We are gathered here today to crown the MVP here at CrossFit Villains for the month of July!!! This month the award goes to none other than Brad Sentes, a.k.a B-Rad. He’s an OG Villain and has stepped up his game this summer by coming in and getting jacked out of his mind rather than sitting on the couch eating sun chips all day. Cheers to you B-Rad, I wish I had the drive and motivation you have when I was your age!!!

Like I said above, B-Rad is an OG Villain. He’s been coming to us since we started back in 2012 when we got our start training hockey kids. From the day he walked through the doors on 8th Ave to today he has been nothing but a sponge for learning new things and he’s always excited when he comes to work out. It’s been an absolute pleasure to watch him grow over the years (literally, I think he’s taller than me now) and extremely motivating to see that a teenager after 3 and a half years is still excited about coming in and striving to improve. That’s probably one of the things I would admire the most about Brad that a lot of people probably don’t take a second look at, his hunger and willingness to improve. Can you confidently say that when you were a teenager you came to the gym everyday on your summer break? Not to mention the fact that he’s been coming in twice a day a couple times a week for the past month. Since this spring he’s made some big jumps in squat numbers, and his clean & jerk has never been smoother. When Brad’s not at the gym (which is rare as of late) you can probably find him either looking after his little brother, or at the lake fishing with pops. There’s no doubt in my mind that this kid is going to do some great things in life, already well on his way at only 15 years old. You can go ahead and challenge him to a sit up competition but you’ll probably lose. It’s been a pleasure to be able to coach you for the last three years Brad, looking forward to plenty more!!! Congrats dude.
